Dr.
Michael Glantz is Senior Scientist and Program Director
of the Environmental and Social Impacts Group at the National
Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado.
He has been a member of the National Academy of
Sciences Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate, and
chairman of the American Association for the Advancement of
Sciences Working Group on Drought and Development.
Among Dr. Glantz's many awards are the 1991 George and
Cynthia Mitchell International Prize for Sustainable
Development, and the 1990 Global 500 Award of the United
Nations Environment Programme.
He is a member of the Independent Commission on
Environmental Education.
Dr. Glantz received as B.S. in Metallurgical
Engineering and a M.A. and Ph. D. in Political Science from
the University of Pennsylvania.
Glantz is an expert in global atmospheric modeling and
environmental issues.
Dr. Glantz is an advisor with the Energy Literacy
Project.
