Dr. Dale M. Nesbitt

Dr. Nesbitt has worked with Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (PARC) as an analyst in the Management Systems Department, Stanford Research Institute (SRI) where he worked on the seminal energy models the SRI-Gulf Model and the SRI World Energy Model and became the Manager of the Decision Analysis--Energy group.  In 1977, Dr. Nesbitt co-founded the consulting and software development company Decision Focus Incorporated (DFI).  In 1995, Dr. Nesbitt founded Altos Management Partners to continue assisting senior management in the energy, high technology, telecommunications, and other industries, and he founded MarketPoint to develop world class forward market and decision support technologies serving the entire spectrum of industry.  He has applied them to oil, gas, electricity, coal, trading, risk management, marketing, asset management, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and asset sales, environmental, decommissioning, capital investment and capital budgeting, and public relations decisions. 

Dr. Nesbitt provides informed expert commentary and testimony on virtually every aspect of the energy business.  Dr. Nesbitt is well known in the energy industry for his market analysis products including the North American Regional Gas (NARG) model, the World Gas Trade model, the World Oil Model, the Western European Gas Model, and the North American Regional Electricity Model. Dr. Nesbitt holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Systems from the University of Nevada—Reno, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, and an M.S. and a Ph. D. degree in Engineering-Economic Systems (Ph. D. dissertation received with honors) from Stanford University.
