The Foundation for Water and
Energy Education (FWEE) is committed to providing balanced information regarding
the use of water as a renewable energy source. FWEE uses a hands-on
curriculum approach for students to explore hydroelectric power. The
curriculum is broken into five units including: the nature of water and
the hydrologic cycle, the physics of how moving water can be used to generate
electricity, the environmental effects of harnessing the energy, and comparing
hydroelectricity to other power sources.
FWEE provides a very well
balanced curriculum on hydroelectric energy, its uses, and its future.
Some curriculum materials such as posters and videos are available for a cost,
while other activities are available online free of charge.
This program is rated 4.
