Energy Information Administration

EIA

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) is an independent statistical and analytical agency within the Department of Energy.  EIA’s webpage offers a comprehensive database of statistics that includes all three E’s and is a great place for research comparing types of energy.  The Kid’s Page (www.eia.doe.gov/kids) is an interactive website hosted by Energy Ant that mainly focuses on energy and the environment, without the economic implications.  The information provided is linked together well with a mass of interesting facts, stories, and an energy quiz.  There are limited science experiments available for classroom use.  The EIA also publishes the Energy Education Resources: Kindergarten through 12th Grade, a directory of free and low-cost educational materials.

This program is rated a 4.
