Profile

The ELP is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation composed of professionals and organizations representing education and the energy industry. We believe that the cultural change we seek can take place through balanced programs incorporating the 3Es and emphasizing how society's economic well-being is affected by the availability and cost of energy, and how the consumption of energy impacts society's quality of life. This balance emphasizes good science, consideration of alternatives, and cost-benefit analysis.

We are currently in Phase II of the project, where we are testing this concept of balance and the 3Es by designing programs with this theme for K-12. While we expect these products to be quite valuable in their own right, the field test of the concept in the schools will direct the ELP toward its Phase III efforts. These are aimed at the rest of society. As a part of Phase II we have created this website for science teachers and coordinators to use as a means of viewing and assessing the currently available programs. Please use this resource, which we will continue to update as individual programs improve in any or all areas.
