The Energy Literacy Project, Inc., has launched its web site. ELP is
an educational and informational corporation that aims to achieve a cultural
change in how society views energy. Executive Director John C. Tobin says,
"We believe that energy literacy must be based on the inseparable nature of
energy (BTUs, or in the refined form KWHrs, from any source), the economy
(energy is the fuel that drives the economy), and the environment (the quality
of life). It is this balance among the 3 Es that brings credibility. The 3Es are an
excellent means to teach subjects such as earth sciences, physical sciences,
history, geography, economics, social sciences, and political sciences. "
